WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?
AIM & OBJECTIVES
This 6 weeks course aims to develop your Chinese proficiency in pronunciation, tones, vocabulary, grammar, and basic conversational skills.
The objectives include building confidence in speaking and listening, expanding vocabulary, understanding, and constructing simple sentences introducing students to Chinese culture.
By the end of the course, you will have a sound foundation to continue your language learning objectives and experience an incredible journey of linguistic and cultural exploration!
PROGRAMME
Over the course of six weeks, you will learn the basics of Chinese Mandarin including pronunciation, tones, and essential vocabulary, gradually building your confidence in speaking and listening. Our courses also integrate cultural elements, providing you with an understanding of Chinese traditions, customs, and history alongside your language learning journey.
Our Chinese teachers’ approach is supportive and practical. Helen’s teaching method offers easy, step-by-step, and interactive lessons with real-life dialogues and engaging activities.
By the end of the course, you will possess a solid foundation in basic Chinese language skills and a broader understanding of the rich tapestry of Chinese culture.
LEARNING / SUPPORTING MATERIALS
Here are some examples of the activities offered during the course:
Introduction to Mandarin Chinese pronunciation and tones, basic greetings and self-introduction, numbers and counting, building vocabulary for daily life situations, forming simple sentences and asking basic questions, introduction to Chinese characters, time expressions and telling time, exploring Chinese culture and customs, basic conversation practice in different scenarios, reviewing and consolidating the learned material.
Throughout the course, there will be listening and speaking exercises, interactive activities, and cultural insights to enhance the learning experience.
